This image was first extracted for the Brogo Wikipedia Article. It sat in my "My Pictures" folder for weeks before I got bored with my then current background and decided I would like a change. I went through my list of possible background and it seems that in Windows XP all your images in My Pictures get added to the list. So I tried it and it makes a good tiled back ground.
Either right-click on the image and select "use as desktop background" or use on "desktop" or whatever the equivalent is for your browser (this works in Windows XP and Unix based OSs such as Linux and BSD), use the png link, or use the .bmp version (for older version of Windows). To use the links right-click on them and select "save target" or browser equivalent.
Windows 3.11 only used bmps and Active Desktop (needed to display non bmp backgrounds) in 9.x (95, 98, 98se, and ME) can be unstable and using bmps is recommended for these versions of Windows. Windows XP can use pngs and Linux is recomended to use png backgrounds.
Some new backgounds created by Malcolm. These feature different coloured rainbow backgounds (from the comic) with Brogo in the right hand corner. These are currently only available in 800 x 600 size but should work on larger resolutions by using the "Stretch" festure.

Note for Windwos 95 users
I have tried the game and installer in windows 95 and both ran with no problems. I am not sure about the hardware requirments but they are probably the same as listed above. If you run into any problems running the game in win95 contact Brogo through our Gmail account or through the forums
All Game Maker 5.3a games are not compatible with Microsoft Windows Vista (RC1) and as a result will probably not run in the final version or any future release candidates (RCs) of Vista. However, Mark Overmars, the creator of Game Maker is working on a version 7 of Game Maker that should be Vista compatible, when it is released it should be no matter to release a Vista version of Donut Quest. A Java version compiled with GJAVA is also planned that will be web, as well as Mac, and Linux compatable. Piga Software have also suggested the possiblity of a native linux version compiled with the alturnative gamer making software "Game Editor", but this may not come to pass.
To play the game run "Donut Quest.exe" from the zip and follow the in game instructions. To instal the game use "Donut Quest Instal.exe". You do NOT need to install the game to plat it however, installing will autmatically add icons to your desktop and start menu and includes a quick uninstaller.
